It wasn't a great start to the day weather-wise, with clouds looming ominously above Parliament Hill. Thankfully, the sky had cleared by the start of the first of the day's races, although the Harriers did still have the cold and, of course, numerous other runners to compete with.

Lewis Lloyd was the first home for the Harriers in the U15 Boys race, coming third out of the London competitors and winning a bronze medal. Zack Weller-Davies the next one in, finished in 14th place, an impressive result for someone a year young. Daniel Wilmott was third out of the Harriers, finishing in 21st position. Michael Prentice (25th), John Tayleur (32nd), Joe Kidson (33rd) and Alex Thompson (34th) followed. The team finished second overall, with 39 points, and the three scorers all picked up silver medals.

In the U13 Girls race, Georgie Hay and Ashley Campbell both ran impressively, finishing in 6th and 7th place respectively. Francesca Meade wasn't far behind in 11th position, with Clemmie Hilliare (17th), Billie Barbour (22nd) and Chantel Banton (26th) also finishing. Overall the team put in an exemplary performance, finishing 1st overall with 24 points.

Our two representatives in the U13 Boys category also performed well, with the young Lascelles Hussey finishing in 8th position and Michael Brown putting in a solid performance, ending the race in 25th position.

Katie Snowden ran well to finish in second place in the U15 Girls race, winning a silver medal. Behind her, Maysie Hilliare finished in 15th place, followed by Jessica Quartey Pigot in 17th, Leila Abandah in 23rd and Tamsin Cornelius in 25th. These performances earned third place and bronze medals in the team competition.

The U17 Men put in solid performances, with Charlie Luscombe in 13th place and Henry Sutcliffe in 21st. These results were backed up by impressive performances from the U17 Girls, with Julia Wedmore winning a bronze medal and Aisha Naibe-Wey finishing in 12th.

This was a successful event for Herne Hill, with a decent turnout and medals for both teams and individuals. I look forward to seeing you all at the next event, where we can aim to keep up the good work!

Lewis Lloyd
